Welcome Kyle Sellnow - Director of Youth and Evangelization We are pleased to announce the hiring of Kyle Sellnow as the Director of Youth and Evangelization, a new position that envelops both the middle and senior high programs. Kyle brings a passion for serving Christ and the Church—especially the youth and has helped develop effective strategies of discipleship that will aid us in our mission of making Jesus known and loved. Kyle graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a double major in both Philosophy and Catholic Studies and holds a Master of Arts in Theology from the St. Paul Seminary. After serving as a missionary with Saint Paul’s Outreach, he went on to teach high school theology for 9 years at St. Michael and O’Hara High School in the Kansas City area and was very involved in the campus ministry program including planning and leading retreats and coordinating adoration. Kyle also worked with 3 parishes to coordinate their Discipleship and Evangelization efforts parish-wide. Kyle shared part of his vision: ‘Since I was a young Catholic, my greatest desire was to help the Church strategically build environments where people encounter Jesus Christ and are invited into a deep relationship with him. I believe this happens through building strong relationships, modeling and encouraging authenticity and holiness, and inspiring the kids to have the courage and freedom to evangelize their peers.’ Kyle and his wife, Julia, look forward to relocating to the West St. Paul area in the coming months with a tentative official start day of July 1st – and the hope to begin even sooner if all comes together. We are grateful to the Search Committee that assisted with this hire including: Christina Stokman (Director of Catechesis and Formation), Jeanne Oberg (Interim Youth Director), Kathleen Randolph (SJY Volunteer, 20+ years), Gwyn Walter (Parishioners/SJY Parent), Dave Zimmerman (Parishioner/Confirmation Catechist), and Fr. Bruno (Parochial Vicar).
